World Menstrual Hygiene Day At Kpando

Ms. Emmanuella Norvi Nutsu, Face of Akpini 2022, and the Ghana Education Service, Kpando Municipal, donated Reflo’s sanitary pads to about 500 adolescent girls in the Kpando municipality on May 26, 2023, at the E.P Church, Kpando Kpodzi. Participating schools were Tsakper R.C Girls, Gabi M/A JHS, St. Thomas Aquinas JHS, Gabi R.C Girls primary, Kpando kpodzi E.P. Basic school, Todzi Presby Basic school, Nuarudini E/A Basic school and Immaculate Conception JHS.

In the face of the challenges posed by the high prices and taxes on sanitary pads, particularly in rural areas, where many girls cannot afford them, and resort to unhygienic alternatives and the team’s commitment to addressing these issues, the team conducted educational sessions to empower the students with knowledge of proper menstrual hygiene practices, including the appropriate disposal of used sanitary pads.

The underlying cause of this World Menstrual Hygiene Day celebration in Kpando was to advocate for the removal of taxes on sanitary pads, thus alleviating the financial burden faced by young girls. As a part of this initiative, Reflo Company Limited supported the cause by providing high-quality sanitary pads at an affordable price, ensuring that every girl-child can easily access and afford these essential products. We are proud to have our products on display in this significant event, and we applaud Ms. Emmanuella Norvi Nutsu and the Ghana Education Service, for this initiative which will help promote menstrual hygiene and empower young girls throughout the Kpando municipality.
